Satisfactory rival Foundry just got even better in a free Steam update

Nothing beats the sounds of virtual industry. Whether it's the clang of carts on redstone rail in Minecraft, the gentle hum of a Satisfactory conveyor belt, or the chaos of miles of facilities in Factorio, watching the fruits of your industrial labor bloom is a reward unlike any other. If, like me, you're always on the lookout for your next opportunity to engage in some video game manufacturing, then, you need to give Foundry a try. Currently in Steam Early Access, the game's second update just ...

We’re in a golden era for action RPGs at the moment. Last Epoch currently has my attention, but Path of Exile 2 continues to make great strides forward, its predecessor is gearing up for a new chapter, and Diablo 4 Season 8 is as robustly reliable as ever. If you love smashing mobs and snagging loot, however, you’ll want to make time for Titan Quest 2. The upcoming Greek fantasy ARPG recently closed the doors on its first big playtest, and in its wake developer Grimlore Games offers fresh feedba...

Grand Theft Auto 5 is Rockstar's worst game, but GTA 6 makes me optimistic again

Grand Theft Auto 5 is Rockstar's worst game, but GTA 6 makes me optimistic again

Beginning in 1997, Grand Theft Auto has been a platform for Rockstar to expound its version of satire. The cast of the original GTA is a nihilistic rogue’s gallery of corrupt cops and seedy politicians. The poster that comes in the game’s box says it was co-developed by ‘The Hand of Satan,’ marking the first of many middle fingers that Rockstar has raised to good taste. But in Grand Theft Auto 4, and protagonist Niko Bellic, Rockstar becomes more sympathetic, more humanist.

Warframe is being massively overhauled to help welcome in new players

Warframe, like any long-running MMO or live service game, is overwhelming. What started as a third-person action game where you take control of bio-mechanical suits has grown into something much, much bigger. Digital Extremes has spent the last 12 years throwing everything but the kitchen sink into Warframe, with fishing, dating, hoverboards, and just about anything else you can imagine already in the game. That’s why, throughout 2025, the team is going to make Warframe much easier to understand...

Odd Dorable is a quirky puzzle game where all of the art was made by the dev's four-year-old kid

Right, sorry parents that proudly put their kids' borderline impressionist drawings on the fridge, there's a new bare minimum you have to meet. If you're not turning your child's drawings into full on video games, then I'm sorry to say you're not doing a good enough job. This doesn't apply to Artur Latkovsky, though, who is quite literally doing that with his game Odd Dorable (I'm sure I don't need to explain the name to you), a game where every single bit of art in the game was made by his four...

FTC pushes the enforcement of its 'click-to-cancel' rule back to July

The Federal Trade Commission has delayed the start of a rule that aims to make the process of canceling subscriptions less of a nightmare. Last year, the FTC voted to ratify amendments to a regulation known as the Negative Option Rule, adding a new "click-to-cancel" rule that requires companies to be upfront about the terms of subscription signups and prohibits them "from making it any more difficult for consumers to cancel than it was to sign up." Surprising no one, telecom companies were not h...

Doctor Who ‘The Story and the Engine’ review: Just a trim, thanks

Spoilers for “The Story and the Engine.” Doctor Who lives and dies by the quality of its writing and acting far more than almost anything else on TV. Audiences may demand big explosions and trippy visuals but its best work is often done in small rooms. The Disney era began with an episode that, for all its glossy excess, rested its big moment on Catherine Tate’s acting. Now, as the Disney era potentially draws to its end, it’s once again highlighting what a smart script and great actors can do. ...

Risk of Rain 2 is still trudging along, it seems, as yesterday publisher Gearbox announced that a new expansion is on the way, Alloyed Collective. In a post over on Steam, the Risk of Rain team explained that alongside updating the game's previous bit of DLC, Seekers of the Storm, they've brought on some "additional folks that are familiar with Risk of Rain to help us build out the next DLC." Alloyed Collective is apparently still a while away from being ready, but it sounds pretty jam packed.

Windblown is an early-access roguelike that just keeps getting better. The next game from Dead Cells developer Motion Twin, this time the focus is on tough-as-nails isometric combat you can play with friends. It’s still in its infancy, sure, but every time I come back to Windblown when there’s a new update, I enjoy it even more than last time. This is especially true of the latest beta patch, From the Leapers, where Motion Twin makes some comparatively smaller changes than we’re used to.
