Nintendo thought instant input was the "better option". If you haven't already noticed, Switch 2 controllers (including the new Joy-Con and Pro controller) will once again use digital triggers. The reasoning behind this decision has now been explained by Nintendo.

Try them out today. Nintendo has wrapped up this week by adding three more Sega Genesis / Mega Drive classics to the Switch Online Expansion Pack. These titles include the original Streets of Rage, Super Thunder Blade, and ESWAT: City Under Siege. You can check out the Switch Online trailer of these games above. This follows the addition of four SNES titles being added to the base tier not long ago. Of course, to access the latest Sega additions to this library, you'll need to have an active Swi...

This is what happens when you "don't have a dev kit". Perhaps one of the most exciting games we've seen announced for the Switch 2 so far is Mouse Work, which makes full use of the Joy-Con 2's mouse-like capabilities across a variety of minigames. Surprisingly, the talented team at Nitro (Shovel Knight Dig, Bomb Chicken) don't even have a Switch 2 development kit yet. So how exactly were they able to make this Switch 2 game without it? Well, it's not the prettiest, but this "Frankenstein" altern...

Here's a small but notable detail that might have passed you by amid the chaos of information that's spiralled out of last week's Switch 2 reveal: the souped-up Switch 2 Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won't include any of its paid DLC.

Elena returns for a new generation. Capcom announced it would be bringing Street Fighter 6 to the Switch 2 last week and today it has confirmed the release date of the final 'Year 2' DLC fighter Elena. This character will be released the same day as Street Fighter 6's Switch 2 launch on 5th June 2025. This also happens to line up with the new console's launch date. Fortunately, for Nintendo players, the Switch 2 version includes "all characters and stages from both Year 1 and Year 2".

It’s set to be a truly bumper year for Take-Two (if GTA 6 sticks to its current release window, that is), and Mafia The Old Country is one major name on its stacked slate. There’s been a long old wait for a new Mafia game, and with this entry taking us to an authentically recreated Sicily to explore the origins of the mob, excitement is high. While previously given a broad summer 2025 window, a Steam blog post appears to have revealed the exact date it’ll drop.

The US Department of Justice has indicted Albert Sangier for defrauding investors with misleading statements about his Nate financial technology platform. Founded by Sangier in 2018, Nate claimed it could offer shoppers a universal checkout app thanks to artificial intelligence. However, the indictment states that the so-called AI-powered transactions in Nate were actually completed by human contractors in the Philippines and Romania or by bots. Sangier raised more than $40 million from investor...

The snow is gracefully falling, smoke gently puffs from your steam engine’s stack, and the rhythmic rumble of your wheels on the tracks is comforting. Frostrail sounds like a relaxing, charming train sim set in a frozen wilderness - until you get off of your trusty locomotive. Then, it transforms into an intense survival FPS. It’s giving Metro Exodus vibes, and it’s one you can play alongside your pals too.

I was quite pleasantly surprised when it was announced last year that Moonlighter was getting a sequel. In that "oh, I never would have guessed this game would get one" kind of way. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, as its full name goes, doesn't have an exact release date just yet, but during today's Triple-I showcase it did get a release window, which is the next best thing I suppose. It's a vague-ish window though, sometime this summer.

Motorola is gearing up to announce new phones on April 24, based on a short teaser video the company shared on X. The video shows what looks like two types of phone — presumably a member of the 2025 Razr family and a Moto Edge — sliding and unfolding into place to spell "AI." There's little else to go on from the video other than the April 24, 2025 date and a glimpse of some new finish options for Motorola's phones, including a wood option. Last year's Razr and Razr+ came in a variety of bright,...

I suspect I might be in a minority here, but I can confidently say I didn't use a single repair kit as I bumbled and faffed my way through MachineGames' excellent Indiana Jones and the Great Circle late last year - mainly because I was so enamoured by the game's ludicrous clobbering loop I couldn't take two steps forward without hoovering up another handful of melee-focused bric-a-brac. So I very much appreciate that Indy's latest update finally gives my never-diminishing stash of repair kits a ...

I love a good sci-fi shooter, and Voidbreaker has just made its way straight onto my wishlist. Revealed during today’s Triple-i showcase, it’s got all the lasers, explosions, dystopian-future environments, and robotic enemies you could ever want from such a game. However, layer on top of that some environmental destruction that wouldn't look out of place in Battlefield or The Finals, and a roguelike gameplay loop, and you’ve got yourself a tasty prospect. Oh, and despite it being freshly announc...

Right, anyone fancy a small look at the next update for Enshrouded? Today's Triple-I showcase delivered exactly that, though I have to admit it's pretty brief, and doesn't show all that much. The game's sixth update, Thralls of Twilight, is due out sometime in May, and seems to come with some big additions. For one, there's new enemies that "creep, crawl, and stalk you further," which sounds… pleasant.

The Elder Scrolls Online is changing in 2025. ZeniMax's MMO has been around for over a decade, and has stood firm against giants like WoW and FF14 in that time. But a new direction is coming. As revealed during the ESO Direct, the team is reinventing not just the flow of content, but the ways new and longtime players can engage with Tamriel, too. So if you’re bored of waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6, or haven’t jumped into ESO for a while, 2025 is the perfect chance to do so.
