Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Rhythm Heaven Groove

You threw off my groove. The final first-party Switch 1 game (as announced at the time of writing) is almost here, with Rhythm Heaven Groove set to launch tomorrow on 2nd July. This one has felt like a long time coming, with the series being notably absent for almost the entirety of the Switch generation, but the previews and a free demo left us thinking that it'd be worth the wait in the end. The question is, is it?

Apple Hide My Email Vulnerability Exposes Real Email Addresses

A flaw in Apple's Hide My Email service can reportedly allow almost anyone to uncover the real email address behind a generated alias, and Apple has failed to address it for more than a year since it was first reported. 404 Media is withholding the technical specifics of the vulnerability because it remains exploitable, but the publication verified the issue this week using one of its own Hide My Email addresses. In tests with volunteers by the researcher who discovered the flaw, 100% of Hide My...

Sony Ditches Physical Media - Suddenly Game-Key Cards Don't Look So Bad

The lesser of two evils. Sony has announced that it is completely ditching physical media for the PS5 – and presumably PS6 – from January 2028. As a response to "shifting trends", this move applies to all new games released for the PS5, with digital-only options available via the PlayStation Store and retailers. GTA 6 was the first game to adopt a digital-only release after pre-orders opened last month, and while this seemed a pretty radical decision at the time, it now makes much more sense.

Review: Rhythm Heaven Groove (Switch) - A Low-Key Swansong And Perfect Mic-Drop For Switch 1

Capture the lag. I remember thinking that 2023's Tears of the Kingdom was the perfect bookend for Switch 1, a fitting sign-off for a generation which began with a transformative open-world take on Hyrule. But Switch 2 wouldn't arrive for another couple of years, which means it's a very different game that gets the 'swansong' label. And low-key as it is, Rhythm Heaven Groove is the perfect encore for a little system that sought to match the rhythms of 21st-century gamers. It's also perhaps the be...

Helldivers 2 is once again spoofing Donald Trump's wall with the Frontlines of Freedom update, which launches a new campaign "to make the galaxy safe again"

Helldivers 2's latest in-game campaign sees the champions of strategically mitigated democracy supervising the construction of yet another massive wall of pine-scented gas in space. Kicking off with the Frontlines of Freedom update, out now, it's a bid to keep those evil "fascist" Terminid insects away from Super Earth, building on the foundations of the abortive original "Termicide" campaign back in March 2024. It's also a pisstake of US president Donald Trump's dreams of constructing a massive...
