Buy Another Day. We're still waiting on the new Switch 2 release date for 007 First Light after it was delayed on the hybrid back in April, but that hasn't stopped Bond from getting off to a flying start elsewhere. Developer and publisher IO Interactive has today shared the game's first sales figures, revealing that First Light shifted a beefy 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours — talk about having the Midas Touch, eh?

The Witcher 4 is the work of over twice as many CD Projekt developers as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the company's executives have revealed. That's approximately as many people as worked on Cyberpunk 2077, although naturally, the figure excludes a lot of external or infrequent contributors, such as voice actors.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max's all-new variable aperture lens will cost Apple 50% more than the camera unit used in current models, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Variable aperture has been one of the most persistent iPhone camera rumors of the past few years. Kuo first flagged the feature in late 2024, and it has since been corroborated by multiple reports and apparently entered production earlier this year. Unlike the fixed f/1.78 aperture found on every iPhone Pr...

A Californian bill backed by the Stop Killing Games campaign, which would see publishers shutting down servers for online games forced to provide full refunds or a version of the game players can keep on playing independently of said servers as part of the process, has hopped another hurdle. It's passed a full vote in California's State Assembly, paving the way for it to head to the state's senate as it inches closer to becoming a fully enacted law despite opposition from the Entertainment Softw...

Switch 2 Edition launched this week. Annapurna Interactive's wonderful cat platformer (catformer?), Stray, finally made the jump to Switch 2 earlier this week, but those with the game already on Switch 1 might have noticed that there's no sign of a free upgrade path. Well, sit tight, because there's one inbound. Publisher Annapurna Interactive took to socials yesterday to apologise for the missing upgrade. "Today's launch for Stray on Nintendo Switch 2 was intended to have a 100% owners discount...

Before I tell you about the Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era early access roadmap, I fear I must finally have a tantrum about the terrible word, "roadmap". Videogame developers, I cannot think of a more flattening, soul-sapping way to describe the process of tinkering with the clockwork of make-believe. In this case, Unfrozen are planning to add a persistent netherworld to their strategy RPG, stretching beneath every mountain and valley. They are also even now convening a Thieves Guild for s...

Here is a game that feels like an adventure. And it feels like it was an adventure to make, too. Mina the Hollower took six years to design and build, six years that took it from what sounds like a kind of coding doodle to a panoramic journey across a richly imagined island, taking in platforming and combat, puzzle-solving, and sheer immersion in the world building. It's Zelda and it's Bloodborne. It's smacking bosses and reading the in-game newspaper. All of which is to say that those six years...

How mysterious. Yoshi returned in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book for the Switch 2 last week, and while it's in a playable enough state, there have been some reports from players about certain issues in the game. Nintendo has now acknowledged this via its official customer support account on social media today, noting how it's currently investigating multiple inquiries about a game-breaking bug which occurs under certain conditions and can halt progress.

And there are "no problems to report". Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has officially set its sights on a Switch 2 release, and the big question is, how will the game hold up on Nintendo's new hybrid platform? Speaking to VGC before the official announcement, Infinity Ward studio head Jack O’Hara said development on the Nintendo version of the game has "actually been pretty smooth" so far, and "pretty seamless", with "no problems to report".
