What took you so long, Bond? I asked you to meet me here, with the nuclear codes I politely requested, in good time. Instead, you've turned up right as I'm about to give this presentation on said codes, meaning I've had no time to grill you about them as part of my prep. You're right, you owe me nothing and at least you're here now. I'll order your signature tippl-wait, what's that you've got there? A box? What's in the box, Bond? This is what delayed you, is it? Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World Announced For Switch 1 & 2

What's that coming over the hill? Rounding out Dragon Quest's 40th anniversary showcase, we got our very first peek at the next entry in the Dragon Quest monsters spin-off series: The Withered World. The teaser was admittedly pretty light on details. We saw a bunch of monsters, two young protagonists and... that's about it. It was all accompanied by a vague "Coming Soon" message, though Yuji Horii noted, "we hope to release before XII".

Hello, No Man’s Sky turns 10 in August, and we feel very lucky that we still get the chance to work on it every day. What we love about sci-fi, and about No Man’s Sky, is that it can be a canvas for so many ideas. Our last update introduced Pokemon-style pet battling, which players...

No Man's Sky goes to war as Swarm update brings universe-ending threat, hundred-ship space battles, and a splash of… Splatoon?

Even if you're not particularly up on your No Man's Sky lore, you'll likely have at least heard mention of the World of Glass, a kind of archival afterlife linked to the exploratory sci-fi game's ill-fated simulation. And in its latest update, Swarm, something fearsome is breaking through from that other realm - so it's time to band together and fight back.

The Legend of Mina. Since its release in 2014, Shovel Knight has been a gift that keeps on giving. Groundbreaking for its hugely successful crowdfunding campaign, it also helped usher in a glorious era of throwback platforming gems like Sabotage Studio’s The Messenger. Yacht Club Games has spent years expanding the Shovel-verse while developing its next project in parallel. Now that follow-up is finally here, and with Mina the Hollower, the studio is moving beyond Mario-like platforming to explo...

Mina the Hollower is an 8-bit world of complex wonder

My favourite moment in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening happens in a library. You're wandering between the stacks, trying to learn more about this strange island you've washed up on, when you spy a book that's hidden up high, stuck at the top of a book shelf, and well out of range of your grasping hands.

Helldivers 2-esque war against a giant evil robo-eye beckons in No Man's Sky's The Swarm update, invading the galaxy right now

It's the Death Star! Well, sort of. It's a big robo-eye invading the galaxy with a swarm of killer drones, as No Man's Sky goes a bit Helldivers 2-ish in its latest update. Dubbed The Swarm, it'll see folks filed away from their not quite Pokemon battles to join three factions who'll need to work together in ship battles to fend off a big Robo-eye with a space station-scorching laser.

Pokémon game sales cross 515m units as The Pokémon Company looks to Winds and Waves next year, and TCG production is ramping up too

Pokémon Winds and Waves will no doubt be huge when the two games launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, but Pokémon is thriving regardless of what's going on in the mainline series. Legends: Z-A had a killer debut last year, and you don't need us to remind you Pokopia has been huge, too. It all adds up, and the latest update straight from The Pokémon Company is staggering.
