OpenAI Reportedly Working on an AI Smartphone to Rival iPhone

OpenAI is working on a smartphone in what appears to be a significant reversal from previous reports that the company had no plans to enter the phone market, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo shared the findings from his latest supply chain checks in a post on X, saying MediaTek and Qualcomm are the chosen chip partners and Luxshare Precision Industry is the exclusive manufacturing partner, with mass production scheduled for 2028. The sequel to the iconic emulator ZSNES is called Super ZSNES, of course

Somehow, ZSNES has returned after laying dormant for 20 years. The developers of the iconic Super Nintendo emulator, which originally debuted in 1997 for DOS (something I distinctly remember trying to install on my ancient Intel 486 Packard Bell), are back with a sequel release dubbed Super ZSNES. And really, what else would they call it? Developers zsKnight and Demo say that Super ZSNES has been rewritten from scratch with a focus on a GPU-powered “Super Enhancement Engine,” which allows for hi...

A remake of the original Assassin's Creed was in the works as of 2023, leaker claims, also alleging Hexe will no longer feature a catssassin

A remake of the first Assassin's Creed game was in the works at Ubisoft as of a few years ago, a prominent AC leaker has claimed, while also alleging that the decision's recently been taken to ditch some of Assassin's Creed Hexe's more "magical" elements. This chatter comes on the heels of Ubisoft finally revealing the much-leaked Black Flag Resynced last week and the news that former Hexe game director Benoit Richer has left the publisher.

After an hour with Directive 8020, I worry the latest Dark Pictures game feels a little flat

Supermassive's "party horror" games, as I like to call them, have become a guilty pleasure of mine. This series famously began with Until Dawn in 2015 and peaked with House of Ashes in 2021, if you ask me. (Although I enjoyed the schlocky Quarry in 2022 as well.) It's a series pitched like an interactive horror movie, where you try to shepherd a group of ill-fated characters through a slasher by making various important choices for them, hoping they don't get shredded as a result.

This week's standout PC game is an astronaut epic from Life is Strange and Vampyr creators Don't Nod, made in partnership with the European Space Agency

Happy this week, all! Summer is well and truly afoot in south England, and I've marked the occasion by ceremonially pivoting my desk to face the window. This gives me a restorative view of some grass and trees, while allowing me to behold people walking their kids to school – a sight that fills my heart with hope and tenderness. The drawback is that random pedestrians can also see my expressions of diabolical excitement, poisonous confusion and mortal terror, while I try to make sense of the lat...

Ford's Mustang Cobra Jet sets a new EV quarter mile record at 6.87 seconds

Ford Racing's Mustang Cobra Jet 2200 just ran a quarter mile in 6.87 seconds at 221 mph at an NHRA event in Charlotte, setting a new world record for an EV. The run smashed Ford's own previous EV record of 7.62 seconds, set by the Cobra Jet 1800 last September, by an impressive 0.75 seconds.   As the name suggests, Ford's Cobra Jet 2200 puts a massive 2,200 horsepower to the wheels thanks to a newly designed electric motor and inverter combo. Ford elected to use two motors and inverters instead ...
