I'm sad to report that when I worked on Black & White 2's expansion I was never offered a weed-laced chilli con carne

You may not be remotely surprised to learn that while making Black & White, the god game in which you can care for a three-story tall cow, many of the developers at Lionhead were smoking marijuana. As Peter Molyneux tells it in a recent anniversary piece for Eurogamer: "If there's any stimulant that aids creativity, it's weed." The developers interviewed do point out that this wasn't everyone on the team. "It would get to six o'clock, which was the official end of the day, and the 'normal' peopl...

Amazon MGM's 2026 theatrical slate includes 'Highlander' and 'Spaceballs: The New One'

Fresh off the box office success of Project Hail Mary, Amazon MGM Studios has announced its theatrical release lineup for the next year. Most of the titles aren't likely to hit the highs of the Ryan Gosling starrer which has grossed $515 million in theaters. However, there are a number of promising releases like Spaceballs: The New One and Highlander starring Henry Cavill, both sequels to '80s films. Another is The Sheep Detectives with Hugh Jackman, the trailer for which has been a hit on YouTu...

iPhone 18 Pro Variable Aperture Camera Enters Production

Apple has started ramping up its supply chain for a new variable aperture camera system expected to debut in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max this September, reports Korea's ETNews. Apple has never implemented a variable aperture on an iPhone. From the iPhone 14 Pro through the iPhone 17 Pro, the main camera uses a fixed ƒ/1.78 aperture, meaning the lens remains fully open at all times when capturing images. In contrast, a variable aperture lets the camera control how much light reaches the sensor....

Star Trek: Resurgence Will Likely Be Delisted Very Soon

Existing owners can still download it though. Publisher Brunerhouse has announced that Star Trek: Resurgence, which only launched on the Switch in August 2025, will soon be delisted due to a license expiration. A short statement was posted on Steam to confirm the news, though no specific date for the delisting was provided. Indeed, the way it's worded, you'd be forgiven for thinking that it's already bit the dust, but Resurgence is still available via the Switch eShop at the time of writing.

YouTube now lets you hide Shorts

You now have the power to remove short-form videos from your YouTube feed if you don’t want to see them. YouTube has rolled out the capability to set your Shorts feed limit to zero minutes, which could help you stop doomscrolling, at least on mobile. The video-sharing platform originally launched a Shorts feed limit back in October last year, but the lowest option you could choose was 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes are up, you’ll get a pop-up reminding you to take a break. Earlier this year, it int...

Switch 2 Rating For Bethesda's Newest IP Appears Online

Is a port of Starfield on the way? Bethesda has already shown strong support for the Switch 2 with multiple game releases, but one title that hasn't landed on the hybrid platform is its new space-themed RPG, Starfield. iOS 26.4 No Longer Signed by Apple, Blocking Downgrades From iOS 26.4.1

Apple today stopped signing iOS 26.4, so iPhone users who have updated to iOS 26.4.1 are no longer able to downgrade to the earlier version of iOS. iOS 26.4.1 came out a week ago. When software is "signed," it means it can pass the server-side verification check that Apple does when a user downloads a new version of iOS on an iPhone. An update that's not signed can't be installed because it won't pass the verification check. Apple does not show users earlier versions of iOS after an upgrade has ...
