Disgaea Devs Dig Into Spooky Farm Sim Trend This Fall With 'Village In The Shade'

Say Moo! NIS America has announced that it's bringing Nippon Ichi's Honogurashi no Niwa to the West this fall on both Switch 1 and 2, under the name Village in the Shade. It's a bit of a pivot for Nippon Ichi, who fans most associate with the Disgaea and Phantom Brave games, but Village in the Shade looks pretty adorable. And if you think you've seen this before, well, you have, as the game was revealed during a Japanese Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase back in July 2025.

Ride on! Well, folks, it’s finally here. Stephen Colbert is writing a new Lord of the Rings movie

It’s been quite a while since we visited Middle-Earth on the big screen (anime prequels aside), but it looks like Lord of the Rings fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming years. We already knew that Andy Serkis’ The Hunt for Gollum was in the works — and by all accounts is progressing nicely — but another Rings-related film is in development too, and it’s being co-written by none other than Stephen Colbert. The announcement came from Peter Jackson himself, in a video posted by Warner ...

Anthropic releases safer Claude Code 'auto mode' to avoid mass file deletions and other AI snafus

Anthropic has begun previewing "auto mode" inside of Claude Code. The company describes the new feature as a middle path between the app's default behavior, which sees Claude request approval for every file write and bash command, and the "dangerously-skip-premissions" command some coders use to make the chatbot function more autonomously.  With auto mode enabled, a classifier system guides Claude, giving it permission to carry out actions it deems safe, while redirecting the chatbot to take a d...

Hands On: Pokémon Champions Promises Top-Tier Battling, But At What Cost?

Put your money where your Meowth is. From the moment that it was revealed, I knew Pokémon Champions was going to be a tough sell for fans like me. You see, the battling has always been my least favourite part of the series — I'm more of a "catch 'em all" than "be the very best, like no one ever was" kinda guy — so seeing a game that promised to go all in on the action with very little of the adventure immediately struck me as something that probably wouldn't be up my street. It takes a lot to get me interested in anything tower-defensive these days, and I'm getting pretty grouchy about paper-based aesthetics, too, but "minimalist strategy game" Painted Kingdoms combines them to promising effect. It takes place in a living book, where each chapter is illustrated according to a different cultural heritage, extending from Europe to China.
