It's "hard to push innovation" in racing games compared to other genres, reckons Star Wars: Galactic Racer creative director

Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Fuse Games' take on offroad speeder rushes in a galaxy far, far, away, sounds more and more up my alley every time I hear about it. That's no different in a freshly published interview with Fuse founder Matt Webster and creative director Kieran Crimmins, which sees the pair chat about boost mechanics which sound a lot like the environmental temperature-sensitive system from PS3 racer Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. The pair also made some interesting points when asked why th...

Hardsuit's canned Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 refuses to fade away, as leaked gameplay videos show what might have been

“Get me somebody who’s played The Chinese Room's Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 STAT,” I yelled, barging through the double doors of our seedy news saloon. “I need 300 or more tasty words on these leaked videos of the older, unreleased Hardsuit Labs version.” A grim silence fell across the chamber. Mark furtively donned a pod-racing helmet. James hid himself behind his latest tower of graphics cards, with an apologetic murmur that while he had played a few hours of Bloodlines 2, he was v...

The new chapter will include not only a game but a novel and music, the company said in a press release.  The developer revealed the new IP via a live-action teaser, with an actor reading lines from William Blake's poem, The Sick Rose. Stellar Blade Dev Might Be Eyeing A Switch 2 Release In The Future

The old "platform expansion", eh? We've seen several ports come our way in the last eight months that would have been nothing more than a pipedream on Switch 1, and it looks like another title that got everyone talking on PS5 back in 2024 might make the jump to the new Nintendo hybrid, too. We're talking about Stellar Blade, of course, the action-adventure title from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Shift Up. In the developer's latest financial report, the team discussed what it hopes to see t...

Hectic chases through exotic planets, tense moments between the drivers, and… Wait. Hang on. That crash, it looked a lot like a Burnout crash? High on Life 2 review

High on Life 2 review

I cannot stress how much I detested High on Life when its loser-ass jiggled out of its mum's basement in a suffocating cloud of weed-smoke. Squanch Games' 2022 FPS was a cynical, jabbering mess that overcompensated for its limp gunplay with meandering, interminable stoner humour. Eurogamer's High on Life review rightly lambasted it for its failings, and I personally would have been happy to never look at one of its grinning guns ever again.

"Our development will continue" says one defiant dev. But for the upcoming Mixtape, from publisher Annapurna Interactive, it sets its sights on the misadventures of young friends enjoying their last days together before moving on. It's the type of narrative adventure game that shines a light on how good music can bring people together, and how much fun getting into trouble can be. From developer Beethoven and Dinosaur, the...
