Apple is reportedly evaluating a tougher display film technology for its first foldable iPhone as it tests materials that could differentiate the durability and feel of the screen from rival devices. According to a new supply chain report from The Elec, Apple is evaluating transparent polyimide film as a protective layer that would sit on top of the ultra-thin glass used in the foldable display. For decades now, the adage has been to add a little damning-with-faint-praise caveat to a complement about good-looking games, especially third party ones, on Nintendo platforms. It looks great, we might muse… 'for a Nintendo platform'.

Surfshark’s One plan is heavily discounted right now, with an 87-percent discount on the two-year package, plus three extra months. The promo price comes out to $2.29 per month, or $62 for the first 27 months. We’ve generally liked Surfshark as a straightforward, speedy service for everyday use, and it’s one of the picks in our guide to the best VPNs. In our Surfshark review, we found it delivered excellent speeds overall and reliably unblocked Netflix across most of our test servers, which make...

I have a love-hate relationship with Spotify that might just be leaning more towards love today. While I struggle with some of the company's choices about the type of content it allows on its platform, I have always had a soft spot for its Wrapped roundups and the monthly audiobook hours included with my Premium subscription. For those like me, Spotify’s news today will likely enhance the appeal of its audiobook offerings. It’s announcing a partnership with Bookshop.org — which lets indie bookst...

These residents are evil. Gosh, how is it February already? We don't know about you, but January actually flew by this year, and looking at the stacked line-up of games for the next few weeks, we suspect we'll be seeing March before we know it. Yes, February is set to deliver a bunch of bangers for the Switch and Switch 2 (so much so that we're kinda hoping the upcoming Partner Showcase doesn't include any shadow drops!), so as per the norm, we'll be going through 14 titles that we're particular...

Following The Witcher 4's big reveal at 2024's Geoff Awards, it predictably took modders about five minutes to revamp The Witcher 3's Ciri into her older monster slaying variant. Now, one of them's had a crack at going a step further by designing a short questline offering a taste of Geralt's non-quite-daughter slaying monsters in Kovir and Poviss, with help from CD Projekt's RedKIT tools.

Have you heard the word 'masocore' before? It's a portmanteau of 'masochist' and 'hardcore', and it's what Team Ninja used to describe the first few games in the Nioh franchise. In an interview a long time ago, Yosuke Hayashi (general producer at Team Ninja) told me that the team working on the Nioh games never really wanted to make them 'Soulslikes', and thought that 'masocore' suited the developer's vision slightly better.

Qud've been worse. Publisher Kitfox Games has announced that Caves of Qud will finally release on the Nintendo Switch this month on 16th February 2026. The title has been a long time coming – 17 years in the making, to be precise – so the recent delays on Switch have felt pretty trivial, thankfully. Toward the end of January, Kitfox stated that the release would likely slip into February as it was awaiting final approval. That's now seemingly happened, and everything is a-go for the 16th.

If you keep an eye on the big, ambitious Fallout mods that're always in the works, you might have heard of Fallout: Revelation Blues. While they released a first demo last year under the Revelation Blues moniker, the group have decided to re-christen their project Fallout: The New West ah...

A hollow promise? Back in December, we learned that the original Hollow Knight would be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of its own at some point in 2026. In true Team Cherry style, things have been radio silent ever since, but a newly-emerged PEGI rating may suggest that we're closer to release than we had initially expected (thanks, Nintendo Everything). As spotted on the official PEGI website, Switch 2 has been added to the Hollow Knight platform list, under the original game's '7' age rat...

Despite AMD’s assurances to the contrary, Valve have announced that they’ve pushed back release plans for the new Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame VR headset. A reminder that the recent delay isn't a "major" one. In case you missed the update last October, Yacht Club's new game Mina the Hollower has been delayed, although it's not a "major" one. In saying this, there have been some posts circulating online about the current date listed on the Switch eShop. If you haven't already noticed in recent months, the title has currently got an "estimated release date" on the storefront of "2030".
