Apple escalates its appeal of a $2 billion fine from a UK antitrust lawsuit

Apple isn't ready to pay a several billion-dollar fine to UK App Store users and is filing an appeal over a major antitrust lawsuit. As first reported by The Guardian, Apple has requested to appeal to the UK's Court of Appeal, which would escalate the case beyond the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT).  The latest appeal attempt follows an October decision from the CAT, where the court found that Apple engaged in anticompetitive practices by exploiting its dominant market position with the App St...

Ayaneo's latest Game Boy remake will have an early bird starting price of $269

After the high price tag of the Ayaneo Pocket DMG turned some retro handheld fans away, Ayaneo is working on another remake of the classic Game Boy with a slightly more affordable cost. Ayaneo revealed the pricing for the Pocket Vert, which starts at $269 for early bird orders. Compared to the Pocket DMG that retails for $449, Ayaneo skipped the OLED and configurations that go up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage for the Pocket Vert. Instead, the handheld maker went with a fully metal CNC bod...

Opinion: I Finally Finished Ring Fit Adventure, And It Might Be Peak Nintendo?

I might just be tired. I must have some kind of record for Ring Fit, if not internationally (see: here), then at least for the West Midlands. I played 10 hours over the weekend, which probably sounds like a lot. I can confirm it was. You know those charity fundraisers of dancing for 24 hours or whatever? It wasn't that. All I raised was my knees (a lot), the Ring (nearly as much), and my cat towards the ring to try and get it to jump through (once, he didn't).

Donkey Kong Bananza might not be the best game of the year, but it's surely the one I loved the most

I think these days, after years of Nintendo outright eschewing the console power rat race and focusing instead on different ways to play and honing their core craft, we forget that Nintendo is still a pretty sharp company in terms of technical innovation. Raw power went aside with the Wii, but the company's dedication to tinkering around the edges to create stand-out original experiences in other ways remained - or perhaps even intensified. There's been a lot of examples over the years, of cours...

The discovery is notable because it represents a shift in how Tesla appears to be approaching mobile device integration. "If you do exclusives you can push every lever to 11 in that platform". We find ourselves in an unusual position when it comes to console exclusives these days. Once upon a time, titles like Halo, Forza, Death Stranding, and God of War would have been playable only on hardware produced by their respective owners. However, today, Microsoft is releasing its games on PS5, while Sony is happy for its leading lights to hit PC.
