Cambridge Audio Evo One review: 14 speakers makes for an overkill gaming soundbar

The Cambridge Audio Evo One isn't usually the sort of product I cover, but I felt intrigued when they listed 'gaming' as a potential feature of a dear £999/$1499 all-in-one music system. This is a product that's more classic hi-fi than gaming soundbar, but with 14 speakers inside and compatibility with the best gaming TVs, it's actually a pretty powerful option that's worth knowing about.

Cracking sci-fi horror Routine escapes a decade of development hell as a great reminder that patronising game design can do one

I was stumped; maybe because I've been so coddled by modern gaming's frequent insistence on eradicating all but the most minor of friction points that - without a conspicuous Post-it note secreted in the immediate vicinity, a blatant on-screen objective marker to beckon me onward, or (sigh) a chatty companion ready to spit out the answer four seconds in - I wasn't s...

Don't get too excited, it's been removed. Pikmin 4 received a free update in November adding new content, but it wasn't a Switch 2 upgrade and didn't include any enhancements for the game on the new hybrid platform. With this in mind, the same Switch title has now reportedly popped up in a section on the eShop, which focuses on first-party Nintendo "games with free updates" and also notes how select titles are enhanced when played on the Switch 2.

What are we all playing this weekend?

What are we all playing this weekend?

Waking up at the crack of dawn today, I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices did not have a comments thread in which to badger us to play Troubleshooter Colon Abandoned Children. I burst from the covers, ran weeping to my PC (this happens most mornings, to be fair) and discovered that I had forgotten to finish the intro for our latest What Are We All Playing This Weekend article. And now I have. So, what are you all playing this weekend?

The 1977 cut of Star Wars will return to theaters in 2027

Here's some good news for the "Han shot first" crowd. The original cut of Star Wars (1977), the film known today as A New Hope, is coming back to theaters. We first learned in August that some version of the film would be screened again in 2027 for its 50th anniversary. But we know now this will indeed be the version everyone saw before George Lucas made those questionable, CGI-heavy changes in the 1997 Special Editions. The re-release arrives in theaters on February 19, 2027. In a short update ...
