ChatGPT's Excessive Flattery Prompts OpenAI to Roll Back Update

OpenAI has reversed a recent update to GPT-4o, the model powering ChatGPT, following widespread complaints about the chatbot's strange behavior. Deployed late last week, the update made ChatGPT excessively agreeable and unnaturally effusive in its praise, and the responses quickly became the subject of mockery on social media. CEO Sam Altman announced Tuesday that the company had completed the rollback for free users and was working to restore the previous version for paid subscribers. "We're wo...

Nvidia and AMD gaming GPU prices are finally dropping in the US, if you're quick

There are glimpses of graphics card prices settling in some places of the US market right now, with some of the latest Nvidia GeForce and AMD Radeon GPU prices dropping to much more reasonable levels. While we’ve yet to see any new GPU prices at the basically mythical US MSRPs, the Radeon RX 9070 and 5060 Ti are now available with prices that, while not at MSRP, are at least not absolutely obscene. If you’ve been holding off on buying the best graphics card for your budget, as you’ve been put of...

A new Starcraft game is on the way from the publishers of Dave The Diver and The Finals, according to reports

It's been so long since the last Starcraft that all I can remember is that Zergs build on creep, the Protoss Void Ray is a glorified Xmas bauble, and Jim Curry went to space. I'm pretty sure at least one of those things is from some other strategy game universe. Maybe Worms. How long must we wait for a Starcraft 3? A long time yet, but possibly not forever, for Blizzard are apparently handing the rights to the cherished RTS series to Nexon, publisher of Dave the Diver and The Finals.
