Switch 2 "Code-In-A-Box" Physical Game Listing Spotted Online

Don't expect a game card. Switch 2 is giving developers another way to distribute their games physically, but this might not necessarily rule out the end of "code-in-a-box" releases. As highlighted on social media, a Split Fiction physical release for Switch 2 has popped up on sites like Best Buy, and attached to the EA and Hazelight game is a notice about it being a full game download, with no game card included.

Marvelous USA Confirms Its Switch 2 Physical Releases Will Contain The "Full Game"

No game-key card releases here. If you're planning on getting a third-party physical title for Switch 2, one thing you might want to check first is if it's a regular game card or a game-key card. Game-key cards don't contain the full data on the card and are instead used as a key to download the full game. While a lot of developers are going to be distributing their Switch 2 games on game-key cards, there will still be some publishers offering the entire experience on the card - at least within ...

YouTube Tests AI Overviews in Search Results

Google-owned YouTube this week said it is "experimenting" with a new video search results carousel that appears after searches for select keywords. According to YouTube, the video results carousel will use AI to highlight clips from videos that "will be most helpful for your search query," which essentially means that it will take clips from videos and play them right in results, so people may not need to click into a video to find the information they're looking for. Perplexity is building a browser in part to collect customer data for targeted ads

AI company Perplexity announced in February that it was building its own browser called Comet. In a recent interview with the TBPN podcast, CEO Aravind Srinivas gave some insight as to why the business appeared to be branching out from its artificial intelligence focus: It's to collect user data and sell them targeted advertisements. "That’s kind of one of the other reasons we wanted to build a browser, is we want to get data even outside the app to better understand you," he said. “We plan to u...

The Crew 2 is getting an offline mode play test and it, unsurprisingly, won't have all of its online features

Last year, Ubisoft announced that both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest would be getting offline modes, something quite likely driven (pun intended) by how upset people were by the original The Crew being shut down completely. There's an ongoing lawsuit over the first game and all! Still, The Crew 2 and Motorfest getting an offline mode is something, and there's a playtest for the former coming next week, April 30th.

Here's a pleasant surprise: the gorgeous Sekiro-like Metroidvania Nine Sols has a prequel manga

Red Candle Games are probably more frequently remembered as a horror developer, what with their first couple of games being Detention and the slightly troubled (but very good) Devotion.
