The Roblox economy is going global, as users can now set regional pricing

Roblox has adapted its payment system to allow for regional pricing. This means that the software will automatically adjust the cost of an in-game item to match the local economy of the buyer. The company says this will make it easier for active community members to "better adapt to local market conditions and maximize earnings." Prior to this move, users in a country like Vietnam would pay the exact same price as folks here in the US. This effectively priced out users who live in countries with...

Nintendo's On A Mission To Unmask The Pokémon 'Teraleak' Hacker

Requesting Discord to cough up the deets. If you cast your mind back to October 2024, you might recall The Pokémon Company being subjected to a hacking which resulted in huge amounts of company data (including personal information regarding its employees) being leaked online. The so-called 'Teraleak' was one of the largest in recent memory, and now it seems Nintendo is going after the person responsible (thanks for the heads up, Polygon). In a recent subpoena document submitted to the U.S. Distr...

Despite Dying Light The Beast, Techland promises it wont abandon Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 Stay Human launched more than three years ago, but its creator, Techland, has continued to support the game since then through major updates and events. Some audiences might have been concerned that the studio's next game, the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast, would shift attention away from the team's prior work, but, fortunately, as we've just learned through an interview with the series' franchise director, this doesn't seem to be the case.

This Roomba robot vacuum and mop is 46 percent off right now

The Roomba Y0140 robot vacuum and mop combo unit is on sale for $149 via Amazon. This represents a discount of 46 percent, as it typically costs $250. It's also a record-low price for this particular model. It’s rare we see robots that can vacuum and mop at this price point. The Y0140 is actually a combo version of the vacuum-only Q0120, which topped our list of the best robot vacuums on a budget. We loved the iconic design and the surprisingly-robust suction power. The robovac also integrates w...

Broken Arrow is a dream RTS game, fusing realistic milsims with outright action

Even as the most cast-iron acolyte of Command and Conquer, I know its battles can often feel too fast, too simple, and too fluid. For a more authentic military strategy experience, it’s best to go elsewhere: Warno, Steel Division, the classic World in Conflict. But then I come up against another problem. These games are detailed, and rooted in more ‘realistic’ aesthetics and mechanics, but that sometimes makes them inscrutable. They’re slow and complex; by design, they’re hard to get into, and c...

Star Wars Outlaws deserves a second chance, and now you can try it free

Ubisoft has a reputation for supporting a number of its games long after their initial launch. This approach has helped keep Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor thriving for many years, and it seems the publisher plans to take a similar tack to more of its recent games. Skull and Bones has a number of massive updates in store, shown off over a recent free trial period, and Star Wars Outlaws has received plenty of major design tweaks and overhauls as well. Now, ahead of the latter game's next DLC, pl...

Meta is using its AI age-detection tech to shuffle more young users into teen accounts

Meta says it's doing more to make sure as many of its younger users as possible are using the teen accounts that it has rolled out for Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. Starting today, it's testing artificial intelligence tech in the US to detect whether a person is a teen — even if they've lied about their birthday to make it seem like they're an adult — and then move them to a teen account. The company says it has taken steps to make sure that the age-detection tech is accurate, but in case i...

Hands-on with Switch 2: the Digital Foundry experience

This one's a touch delayed - we didn't attend either the New York or Paris reveal events - but Nintendo arrived in London on April 11 to showcase Switch 2 and Digital Foundry was invited. And by and large, we like what we see. Yes, there's a certain degree of continuity and familiarity moving from the original Switch to its successor, but from our perspective, the hardware hits the spot: bigger, brighter, better. And as for the games, well, it's early days of course, so there is an expected qual...
