WW1 shooter Trench Tales, somehow made by a solo dev, returns with new playtest

With haunting, war-torn levels, environmental destruction, a substantial weapon mod system, and extrasensory abilities, it’s hard to believe that Trench Tales is made by just a single developer. This third-person horror shooter gives off huge Resident Evil vibes, but its WW1 setting and focus on gunplay makes it alluring to fans of Battlefield 1 or Sniper Elite, and now its creator is recruiting playtesters to help refine the experience.

The first meteor shower of spring peaks soon, and another is close on its heels

There are several meteor showers we can count on seeing every year as Earth passes through the debris trails of known comets and asteroids orbiting the sun, and two of them are about to be in full swing. The Lyrids, which come from comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, will be visible from April 17 to 26, most prominently in the skies over the Northern Hemisphere. And just a couple days later, the bright streaks of the Eta Aquarids — stemming from the famous Halley’s Comet — will make their first appearance...

DoJ Wins Another Victory: Google's Ad Tech Empire Violates Antitrust Laws

Google has an illegal monopoly in online advertising, U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema said today. Google is guilty of "willfully acquiring and maintaining monopoly power" in the publisher ad server market that websites use for ads and the open-web display ad exchange market that matches advertisers with websites. Publishers that wanted to use Google's ad exchange were also required to use its ad server, which disadvantaged competing platforms. Google's "First Look" feature gave its ad exchan...

Overwatch 2's new Stadium mode won't feature its poster character Tracer at launch, though there's a fair reason why

Overwatch 2's Stadium was announced earlier this year, a new round-based mode that lets you buy upgrade items through its rounds to get different buffs, gear, etc. as you try to win the best of seven rounds. Honestly one of the most notable things about it is that it'll have a third-person perspective, a series first for the shooter, one that I've never understood not being in the game given how much of an emphasis on skins there is. But, interestingly enough, it's not launching with every chara...
