Guild Wars 2’s huge Janthir Wilds update adds new region, brings back old Relics

For most people nowadays, their first MMORPG is World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy 14. For me, it was Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet's classic fantasy adventure that remains my favorite of the genre. Its most recent expansion, Janthir Wilds, added everything from the Spear weapon track to player housing. Now my fellow Tyrians can rejoice for Janthir Wilds' second major content drop, Repentance, has arrived, adding a whole new region and bringing back some beloved Relics.

Call Of Duty: Warzone's original Verdansk map is coming back, but a bit later than expected

The passage of time is unfortunately an unstoppable thing, and I seem to have blinked and five years have passed since the release of Call of Duty: Warzone. In the intervening period, a sort-of-sequel was released simply titled Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 - now just called Call of Duty: Warzone, too - and the single, bountiful map players War upon has changed several times over. Yesterday on March 10th, the day Warzone officially released back in 2020, Activision shared a teaser trailer confirming...

Lena Raine released a soundtrack for Celeste studio's cancelled follow-up game Earthblade

Lena Raine, who composed most of the music for the beloved indie game Celeste, has released a concept album for Earthblade. Extremely OK Games announced in 2022 that it was developing Earthblade as its next project after Celeste, but it ultimately cancelled the project in January this year. Raine wrote in the description of EARTHBLADE ~ Across the Bounds of Fate that she cobbled together "every bit of music [she'd] written for the game to the point of its cancellation in order to tell [her] own ...

macOS 15.4 Beta 'Hides' Amount of Storage Used by Apple Intelligence

MacRumors icon 6 days, 5 hours, 53 minutes ago by Tim Hardwick

When Apple released the second macOS 15.4 beta earlier this month, the company apparently made a change that means System Settings no longer shows how much local storage space Apple Intelligence features are taking up on a Mac. In macOS Sequoia 15.3.1, users with a Mac powered by Apple silicon can easily discover how much space any installed Apple Intelligence features are taking up on their drive by going to System Settings ➝ General ➝ Storage, and then clicking the circled "i" button next to m...

Apple MacBook Air M4 13-inch and 15-inch review: Minimal upgrades at a much better price

At the risk of repeating myself from Engadget's MacBook Air M1, M2 and M3 reviews: The M4-equipped MacBook Air is a nearly flawless ultraportable. Even better, it now starts at $999, which is $100 less than before. While I'd still like to see more ports and a faster screen refresh rate, the MacBook Air still remains heads and shoulders above the competition. And when companies try to one-up Apple, as ASUS did with its 2.2-pound Zenbook A14, it only proves how much better-designed Apple's hardwar...

Ford says it's done sending out all the complimentary NACS adapters that 140,000 EV customers in the US had reserved. The automaker announced in 2023 that it was working with Tesla to give Ford EV owners access to tens of thousands of Superchargers across the US and Canada. In 2024, Ford's EVs became the first non-Tesla vehicles to be able to access Superchargers. Another open-world samurai RPG hits Steam a week before Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After years spent waiting for a true open-world samurai game, we've seen a flurry of them arrive on PC in pretty close proximity. First, there was Ghost of Tsushima. Later this month, we'll finally have Assassin's Creed Shadows, which puts Ubisoft's signature open-world stealth twist on the feudal setting. But wedged in the middle is Nioh and Ninja Gaiden developer Team Ninja's Rise of the Ronin, a 19th-century adventure that blends parry-based swordplay with the industrial era's advancing techn...

The grimy sci-fi in Songs Of Rats feels like Mothership RPG meets Fighting Fantasy

The first enemy I encounter in the Steam demo for Songs Of Rats is a giant golem, encased in fridge-thick armour with fists the size of fridges and a thousand-fridge stare. If RPGs are good at anything, it's making numbers scary. To wit: The battle golem has 40 health, and I have a nerf crossbow with pretensions that does one entire damage. I manage to do two entire damage, and he downs me in two hits. This may well be what it feels like for a real life rat to fight a real life fridge, and in th...

Wanderstop review

If you weren't already worried about game developers - and, heck, you really should be by now - the growing emergence of games explicitly about burnout is certainly a good reason to start. Wanderstop, in a similar vein to last summer's Dungeons of Hinterberg, is exactly that, only this time instead of opting for a breezy vacation to get away from it all, your location is a little more confined. Imagine Alice in Wonderland except, instead of a whole forest to act as her psychological gauntlet, Al...

The Morning After: The Justice Department wants Google to sell off Chrome

The Justice Department said in a filing that Google will have to break up its network of myriad, overlapping businesses and services, upholding the previous administration’s proposal. The DOJ reiterated Google will have to sell the Chrome browser — saying, last year, that selling off Chrome “will permanently stop Google’s control of this critical search access point and allow rival search engines the ability to access the browser that for many users is a gateway to the internet.” Google is likel...

The Last of Us season 2's latest trailer once again skirts around that Big Narrative Event

We all know what's coming up in The Last of Us season 2, right? I mean, everyone knows what happens quite early on in the game, because it was a pretty controversial narrative choice so everyone and their mum has spoiled it. I haven't played it myself and I know what happens, but it seems like streaming service Max is happy to pretend that everything is peaches and cream (more or less) in their adaptation. A new trailer for The Last of Us season 2 dropped over the weekend that is full of drama a...
