"It all felt a bit like running a street gang": The story of Stalker, and the Stalker 2 that never was

In the mid noughties, a Ukrainian living in Kyiv could enjoy the luxury of boredom. In the wake of the anti-corruption Orange Revolution - "good times of hope, when we felt like we were the masters of our own fate" - Andrii Verpakhovskyi was tired of zipping around town as a system administrator, helping out local companies with their computer infrastructure: "I faced the unfortunate reality that I was running out of cool, new stuff to do." And so he started pestering his best friend, who was wo...

Random: Try Not To Cringe Watching This Video Of A Pokémon TCG Scalper

Gentlemen, please... As long as Pokémon TCG exists, there will always be scalpers looking to make a quick buck from the game's rare cards and packs. Case in point, a new video has surfaced in which two men appear to be fighting it out to take advantage of a kiosk restock. The video comes from TikTok user 'yoc9official', who appears to be one of the men directly involved in the altercation, though he claims to be well-intentioned and is simply purchasing cards for his own collection.

Mixing Civilization 7 and Doom, the greatest 4X game on PC just got a big update

This isn’t the first time that I’ve said it and I doubt it will be the last: Solium Infernum is the single greatest 4X game on PC right now. While Civilization 7, Stellaris, and Endless Space all provide variations on the genre’s traditions, and each experiments with and tries to perfect the formula, Solium Infernum turns the entire concept of 4X upside down. You don’t have many military units. You don’t make that many choices. You don’t build anything. A strategy game set in Hell, Solium isn’t ...

Ex-Nintendo Employee Spills The Beans On The Company's Weirdest Zelda Ad

"This is not what we were expecting". Over the years, Nintendo has put out some truly weird adverts for its consoles and games, including the wonderful SNES collaboration with the late, great Rik Mayall, and the bizarre sing-a-long commercial used for Super Mario Sunshine. Many of them pale in comparison to the NES Legend of Zelda advert starring comedian and prominent voice actor John Kassir (Tales from the Crypt, Bayonetta), which takes place within a padded prison cell in which Kassir randoml...

Nintendo Shares Another Banger From The Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Soundtrack

"I need a bigger gun". We thought that last week's reveal of the Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition 'Don't Worry' remix might be the only peek we'd get at the upcoming remaster's soundtrack, but we were wrong! Nintendo UK is back with another track, and it's another banger. This time, it's the battle theme 'Black Tar' that gets an upload of its own. Unlike 'Don't Worry', this one appears to have been left relatively untouched for the Definitive Edition, but that doesn't make it any less ...

We don't score reviews at Rock Paper Shotgun. In addition, FCC documents viewed by MacRumors indicate that cellular configurations of both ne...

Utah is poised to pass an age verification law for app stores

Utah has once again passed a bill that attempts to place new limits on children’s ability to access social media and other apps. The state legislature passed a bill that requires app store makers to verify the ages of users and get parental consent for the downloading of apps. Should the governor sign the bill into law, it would be (as The Verge points out) the first such measure in the country. The Beehive State has previously attempted to restrict how children can use social media. The state p...
