Review: Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster (Switch) - Two Of The PS1's Best RPGs Beautifully Preserved, For The Most Part

Read the rune, Konami. Few RPGs, or video games, deal with war and hope in the face of tyranny like the Suikoden series. Konami’s prime RPG series, created by the late, great Yoshitaka Muriyama, is beloved by those who have played them – particularly the first two. They’re about the underdogs, about those who want better for their country, and not at the cost of a life. In the face of war, we push back against tyrannical empires and oppressive governments in order to give the people, and the opp...

The scripts for Suikoden I & II HD Remaster are very different from the original RPGs

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is out tomorrow. I'll have a review up soon, but I wanted to post some quick thoughts on the new translation. “For the original games, the size of the dialogue box was quite small and there wasn’t a lot that we could fit in there," producer Yasuo Daikai told IGN back in 2022. "Japanese is a language that can say a lot in a very short amount of space, but for English and other languages, you need a lot of space to say the same thing usually. So in this game we have exp...

In an update, Nintendo has officially won - with Seattle district judge Marsha J. Pechman awarding the video game giant approximately $7,030,158 million as a default judgment against the two sellers (thanks, Polygon).

A small but handy toggle. Nintendo Music yesterday added the classic Zelda soundtrack 'A Link to the Past' and it seems Nintendo has also updated the app for mobile devices. As highlighted by dataminer 'OatmealDome' on social media, this updates the app to Version 1.1.0 on iOS and Android devices. It includes an update for "automatic volume adjustment". Here's the full rundown of this small but notable update, courtesy of the same source:

Polygon icon 45 days, 3 hours, 50 minutes ago by Susana Polo

Daredevil isn’t just back in Disney Plus’ Daredevil: Born Again. He’s bringing more members of the Marvel Comics community with him, with the late Kamar de los Reyes in the role of Hector Ayala, the White Tiger.  Born Again skates lightly over White Tiger’s powers and backstory in its premiere episodes — just enough to...

The Man Without Fear returns to TV this week with Daredevil: Born Again, more than six years after the final season of Netflix’s Daredevil. But don’t let its name fool you. Born Again is not a reboot of Matt Murdock’s TV continuity; it’s picking up right where the old show left off.  Well, sort of....

GTA V finally gets its 'next-gen' update on PC, three years after consoles

Diablo 4 is now in its seventh season - how the time flies, eh? The ARPG is continuing to uphold its end of the live service bargain with lots of new content, while players continue to pile into the game despite the fairly recent emergence of a major rival in Path of Exile 2. However, in a new interview, Diablo’s general manager Rod Fergusson has described traditional, seasonal battle passes as “antiquated,” hinting that some changes could be on the way for Diablo 4. He also says that while armo...

In the latest beta of tvOS 18.4, there are new hints of Apple's work on a smart home hub accessory that's rumored to be coming as soon as this year. MacRumors found that Apple has added ChatKit framework to the tvOS code, which is curious as there is no Messages app available on the Apple TV or the HomePod. The ChatKit framework added to tvOS 18.4 includes reactions and notifications for tapback reactions added to iMessages, like "[person] disliked this" or [person] reacted with [emoji]," which ...

The seventh-generation iPad Air arrives just ten months after the previous model. Last year, the biggest change was the introduction of an all-new 13-inch model. With the latest refresh, the most significant upgrade is the move to the M3 chip. The ‌2024 ‌iPad Air‌ models have now been discontinued by Apple, but they may still be found refurbished and with third-party resellers for lower prices. As such, some customers may be weighing up whether to buy the 2024 ‌‌iPad Air‌ or the new 2025 models....

This DBD Killer is being removed for good and you’ve not got long to unlock them

Few games nail crossovers quite like Dead By Daylight. Killers from other IPs are always beautifully recreated, originate from some of the biggest horror franchises around, and bring fresh gameplay experiences with their personal perks. The Survivor crossovers are great too, don’t get me wrong, but slaying out with the Xenomorph from Alien or Pyramid Head from Silent Hill is just next level. While new Killers will always be added to DBD, Behaviour Interactive has just revealed that one iconic ch...
