Playing Total War: Warhammer 3's Kislev campaign on release was one of the best storified strategy game times I've had in years, launch issues be thrice-damned, triple cooked, and three times a lady. But the Slavic bulwark against stinky, angry, tricksy and horny invaders has lost some lustre since. The details in Creative Assembly's latest blog are still a work in progress, but give a solid idea of how Kislev as a faction are changing in a patch due mid-March.

AMD have finally confirmed pricing, dating, and specs-ing for their first RDNA 4 graphics cards. The Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will be out on March 6th, and start from $549 and $599 respectively. While these are still relatively fat stacks o' cash, AMD say they’ll compete with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti – and considering the latter is supposed to start at $749, with most models currently going for above $800, that could make for a tasty undercutting.

All the way back in 2021, Netflix seemed like it was finally making good on its promise to change the way we watch movies. It had already found the (increasingly less successful) binge model for TV, and the experimental Fear Street franchise was supposed to be a shot at giving movies a similarly relentless release...

Picking between Lödwyn or Ryngrim in Avowed‘s “Shadow of the Past” quest leaves you with no good options. People suffer no matter what you do, and your companions hold a bit of a grudge in one outcome, despite offering little help guiding you toward a decent choice. Unlike some big choices in Obsidian’s RPG, this...

Deciding whether to have the Emerald Stair animancers relocate to Thirdborn or Paradis in Avowed seems like a choice with a major outcome during the “Ancient Soil” quest, but that’s only halfway true. The outcome is influential – though you never get the chance to see it until later. Unlike most of Avowed‘s important choices,...

“Nature vs. Nuture” is a side quest in Avowed that highlights the divisions in Emerald Stair between animancers and everyone else. In a dispute over farming methods, you have to decide which side is right. This sounds low-stakes, but things quickly turn violent depending on your choices. At the end of it all, though, you...

Monster Hunter Wilds makes for a confusing PC release, with staggeringly poor performance on lower-end graphics cards - to the extent that we don't recommend the game at all on these systems - and relatively meagre visual rewards given the performance requirements. That's a harsh assessment, but it's unfortunately a justified one based on the profound performance problems here that must be addressed.

Polygon sat down with writer Kelly Thompson earlier this week to discuss her best-selling Absolute Wonder Woman, which she co-created with artist Hayden Sherman — but we couldn’t help asking about another of her comics co-creations who has been making a big splash lately: Jeff the Land Shark, who appears in Marvel Rivals. Microsoft today announced that it will officially retire Skype on May 5, 2025, concluding its 14-year tenure as the owner of the once-dominant internet calling and messaging service (via Bloomberg). Microsoft acquired Skype in 2011 for $8.5 billion in what was then its largest-ever acquisition. At its peak, Skype had more than 300 million monthly active users and was synonymous with internet-based voice and video calling. The service steadily declined in relevance in recent years, with its activ...

There is bad news for anyone hoping to play Assassin's Creed Shadows on the Steam Deck as the technology director for the game confirms that it won't be compatible, at least not on release day. While the Steam Deck is still the best handheld gaming PC for most, it's aging hardware and limited power is starting to become an issue for anyone hoping to play the latest triple-A games. The Assassin's Creed Shadows system requirements cover everything up to ultra ray tracing, and Ubisoft believes ther...

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 transports you to the heart of 15th century medieval Europe for a deeply immersive, story-led action RPG. Apple's new entry-level iPhone 16e has inherited the Action button first seen on the iPhone 15 Pro and now found on all iPhone 16 models. The Action button replaces the traditional Ring/Silent switch – a staple of the iPhone since it launched in 2007. For users unfamiliar with the Action button, here's a rundown of its functions – including one that is (currently) exclusive to iPhone 16e. The Action button replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent, offering addit...

Apple is collaborating with the National Hockey League (NHL) to equip on-ice officials with Apple Watches featuring an app designed to help officiating during games (via The Verge). The NHL Watch Comms app allows referees to receive in-game updates by syncing with the NHL's Oasis system. It is kind of strange to think of Lord of the Rings as a media franchise. Though there have been many adaptations of J.R.R. The only surprise in Amazon’s reveal of Alexa+ this week was the price. With inflation rampant and many more impactful subscription services to choose from, $20 per month is an absolutely bonkers price for an as-yet unproven AI chatbot. Recall that Alexa has historically not cost anything as long as you've had hardware to run it. The same goes for Google Assistant (and now the basic version of Gemini) as well as Apple’s Siri. They’ve always been tools to enhance hardware, not the product itself....

PUBG: Blindspot, the first proper PUBG spin-off, is a bit of an oddity. Despite the Steam page for its Next Fest demo saying the game was "inspired by PUBG: Battlegrounds", and has a dinky little PUBG sticker above its logo to prove it's part of the wider PUBG universe, it's pretty clear from the second you choose a character and jump into a 5v5 Demolition match that another game has been a much bigger inspiration here: namely, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege.
