Total War: Warhammer 3's rework of the Kislev faction looks promising, as do Cathay's grenadiers

Playing Total War: Warhammer 3's Kislev campaign on release was one of the best storified strategy game times I've had in years, launch issues be thrice-damned, triple cooked, and three times a lady. But the Slavic bulwark against stinky, angry, tricksy and horny invaders has lost some lustre since. The details in Creative Assembly's latest blog are still a work in progress, but give a solid idea of how Kislev as a faction are changing in a patch due mid-March.

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 series prices look good, assuming they hold

AMD have finally confirmed pricing, dating, and specs-ing for their first RDNA 4 graphics cards. The Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will be out on March 6th, and start from $549 and $599 respectively. While these are still relatively fat stacks o' cash, AMD say they’ll compete with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti – and considering the latter is supposed to start at $749, with most models currently going for above $800, that could make for a tasty undercutting.

All the way back in 2021, Netflix seemed like it was finally making good on its promise to change the way we watch movies. It had already found the (increasingly less successful) binge model for TV, and the experimental Fear Street franchise was supposed to be a shot at giving movies a similarly relentless release...

Deciding whether to have the Emerald Stair animancers relocate to Thirdborn or Paradis in Avowed seems like a choice with a major outcome during the “Ancient Soil” quest, but that’s only halfway true. Monster Hunter Wilds - we can't recommend the PC version

Monster Hunter Wilds makes for a confusing PC release, with staggeringly poor performance on lower-end graphics cards - to the extent that we don't recommend the game at all on these systems - and relatively meagre visual rewards given the performance requirements. That's a harsh assessment, but it's unfortunately a justified one based on the profound performance problems here that must be addressed.

Microsoft acquired Skype in 2011 for $8.5 billion in what was then its largest-ever acquisition. At its peak, Skype had more than 300 million monthly active users and was synonymous with internet-based voice and video calling. The service steadily declined in relevance in recent years, with its activ...

$20 a month for an AI chatbot? In this economy??

The only surprise in Amazon’s reveal of Alexa+ this week was the price. With inflation rampant and many more impactful subscription services to choose from, $20 per month is an absolutely bonkers price for an as-yet unproven AI chatbot. Recall that Alexa has historically not cost anything as long as you've had hardware to run it. The same goes for Google Assistant (and now the basic version of Gemini) as well as Apple’s Siri. They’ve always been tools to enhance hardware, not the product itself....

PUBG: Blindspot may be a shameless Rainbow Six Siege clone, but that doesn't stop it being extremely fun

PUBG: Blindspot, the first proper PUBG spin-off, is a bit of an oddity. Despite the Steam page for its Next Fest demo saying the game was "inspired by PUBG: Battlegrounds", and has a dinky little PUBG sticker above its logo to prove it's part of the wider PUBG universe, it's pretty clear from the second you choose a character and jump into a 5v5 Demolition match that another game has been a much bigger inspiration here: namely, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege.
