The next Star Citizen update is here, coming in to land just ahead of CitizenCon this weekend. Star Citizen alpha 3.21 is the latest update for the hugely ambitious space game from Cloud Imperium Games and Roberts Space Industries, which first gained notoriety for its vast Kickstarter backing. Star Citizen: Mission Ready is now available for all players, and includes new ships, platform expansions, and missions for players at all levels of experience.

Microsoft went all-out on Xbox advertising with its takeover of the Las Vegas Sphere last night. For anyone unfamiliar with the Sphere, it's a dome-shaped entertainment arena which opened last month. The inside wall has wraparound LED screen, and on the outside there's LED display space used for advertising. Xbox is the latest company to use the Sphere for advertising, lighting up Las Vegas with its green logo to coincide with TwitchCon.

Activision Blizzard games may not be arriving en masse on Game Pass anytime soon, but there is a 10-hour Diablo 4 trial available for all Xbox players this weekend. This upcoming timed trial is available as part of Xbox's long-running Free Play Days promotion. "Starting this weekend, we're introducing Timed Trial games in Free Play Days. Gamers want the hottest games in Free Play Days, and with Timed Trials, we can get newer games into the program faster," Microsoft said.

Another new Team Fortress 2 update from Valve has rolled out to improve the newest mode in its squad shooter. As Counter-Strike 2 lights up Steam, TF2 stays strong alongside it in part thanks to the introduction of a mode based on a classic Half-Life 2 mod to the official rotation. Sony is donating $2m (£1.65m) to support humanitarian aid in Israel and Gaza, as hostilities in the region continue, and casualties mount. One of 2023's biggest releases has arrived. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is already out in some parts of the world now, and it's been received incredibly well by critics so far with a current score of 93 on aggregate websites like Metacritic. In our own review, we said it was "the best 2D Mario game since Super Mario World" on the Super Nintendo.
