The last few months have been bloody brilliant for RPGs, a period stuffed with massive, triple-A titans, gorged on inflated budgets and turgid with years of work from dozens or even hundreds of people, that have competed to devour hours upon hours of my time. And yet for a couple of weeks now I've been consumed by Moonring, another open-world RPG, but one that is largely the work of one man, and available on Steam for free. Moonring is Fable co-creator Dene Carter's sonnet to the Ultima series, ...

YouTube creators may be able to upload music that sounds like it was actually sang by famous musicians one day. According to Billboard and Bloomberg, the video hosting platform is developing an artificial intelligence tool that can mimic the voice of recording artists. It was also hoping to introduce the feature during its Made On YouTube event in September, where it debuted other AI-powered creator tools including a generative green screen. Obviously, its plan didn't push through, and it was ap...

Diablo 4 pets have long been a request of the game’s community, and while we don’t have any companions that can follow at our heel quite like those of Diablo 3, Path of Exile, or Diablo IV’s newest rival Last Epoch, there are a couple of furry friends that you can bring along on your adventure, and you can pet the dog if you want. Yet while cats get a little attention in the latest store update for Diablo 4 Season 2, Blizzard still remains unwilling to let us actually show them any love.

Zen Studios, the team behind the Pinball FX series, is reportedly one of the latest companies to have been hit by layoffs this year. As shared by Videogamelayoffs (via VGC), an unnamed source from the studio revealed 32 members of staff from the Hungary-based developer had lost their jobs earlier this month. Zen Studios was one of the many studios acquired by Embracer Group in 2020, when the Swedish video game and media holding company acquired the developer through Saber Interactive.

Even with its easily-expandable storage, it can still be difficult to install every game you want on your Steam Deck, especially as modern PC games continue to demand more storage to contain their huge worlds. Thankfully, this brand-new 1.5TB SanDisk Ultra microSD may help solve our handheld woes, in addition to providing fast read speeds, and not hurting our wallets too much.

What is the best MW3 AMR9 loadout? The AMR9 is a lightweight and versatile SMG that can be customized in various ways to suit your playstyle, whether that's improving the gun’s range or adding extra firepower so it operates more like an AR. The AMR9 gives the MW3 Striker loadout a run for its money to be the best SMG in MW3. We've decided to steer into the AMR9's strengths of being mobile and snappy, as well as being pretty fun to use, so have gone for a class setup and loadout to improve its mo...

Starfield Steam sales are down, as the latest Bethesda RPG drops a number of places on Valve’s store just over a month since launch. At the same time, two other games from the Skyrim creator - Elder Scrolls Online and the once-troubled Fallout 76 - make significant gains on the latest Steam chart, jumping in popularity both globally and in the US specifically. Baldur’s Gate 3 meanwhile manages to remain in the Steam top ten after launching in early August.

Following three years solely on the Epic Games Store, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2’s recent Steam launch was a largely happy occasion – save for it carrying over the same always-online requirement as it has on Epic. Yesterday’s 1.1 patch for the Steam version has now made offline play possible, but in a move that simultaneously makes loads of and absolutely no sense, it’s only available on the Steam Deck.

Oppo's first two horizontally folding phones caught our attention with their shorter 9:8.4 "golden" aspect ratio, but with the brand new Find N3, the company sided with a more conventional design, which is backed by some new software tricks to boost the multitasking experience. Not to mention an upgraded set of Hasselblad-branded rear cameras, a vastly improved folding durability, and the alert slider inherited from OnePlus — as we've already seen on the recent Find N3 Flip. The new foldable AMO...

Flour, egg, banana, butter, salt. Given the ingredients at hand, I thought this was a decent attempt at making banana bread. The free cooking game Little Chef disagreed, and dubbed my dish 'Eggy Mess'. Everyone's a critic. Immersive sims like Dishonored or System Shock can be very fulfilling, but they are also oddly stressful. After all, the flipside of the genre mantra of solving problems through imaginative application of the tools is that when you achieve a boring solution, that's all your fault. Did you miss the final jump while trying for a complex, third-storey infiltration in Deathloop, resulting in a sadly non-immersive firefight in the courtyard below? Did you fail to combo those magical abilities and ter...

When I asked you - the Eurogamer readers - whether you had any questions for Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake, I wasn't expecting quite the outpouring I got. I thought maybe there'd be a couple of dozen questions, perhaps more, but you submitted well over 100. It's a lot more than I imagined would come in, so thank you. It's a really encouraging precedent for doing similar things in the future. I asked Sam Lake your questions at the end of last week ahead of his visit to EGX. Sorry it's taken a f...

Yep, that's nice. Tech company Ayaneo is pumping out more hardware iterations than we can possibly keep up with, but its latest effort is of particular interest thanks to its remarkable resemblance to Nintendo's own DS line. Yes, the Ayaneo Flip DS is on its way (thanks, The Verge) and boasts a 7-inch 120Hz display screen with an additional screen housed in that classic clamshell design popularised by the Nintendo DS. A second iteration has also been announced called the Ayaneo Flip KB, only thi...
