Preview: Sakurai's Kirby Air Riders Is A Kaleidoscopic Adrenaline Rush

Watch out, Mario Kart World. Kirby has the ability to put everyone in a good mood, right? I mean, I've been in a lovely mood thanks to the pink puffball (and Nintendo), as I was lucky enough to go hands-on with the upcoming racer Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2 at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. As a surprising sequel to Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube, it's a really fascinating game, and it does, as director Masahiro Sakurai said in yesterday's Nintendo Direct, feel very different to Ma...

Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 4 puts the RTS series back on track after disaster

Like many Warhammer-obsessed teenagers, I played so much Dawn of War I could see tactical maneuvers in my sleep. Soulstorm was my particular jam, as it added the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle. Like I say, I was a Warhammer-obsessed teenager. I fell off the RTS series before its sequel released, mostly because I discovered beer, so my strongest, fondest memories remain of that original game, especially given the third entry's MOBA-like elements went down like a lead baloon. There's a parallel ...

The White House now has a TikTok account

The White House has joined TikTok, the social media app that President Trump wanted to ban during his first term. Its first post shows clips of Trump in various events with Kendrick Lamar's track playing in the background. The New York Times notes that it references a popular video edit of Creed, a boxing movie starring Michael B. Jordan, on the app. In the TikTok post, Trump could be heard saying "I am your voice," while the caption reads "America we are BACK! What's up TikTok?"  Trump's admini...

Dante's epic poem La Divina Commedia is getting turned into a videogame again

Enotria: The Last Song developers Jyamma Games are making a new action-RPG inspired by and named after Dante Alighieri’s 14th century epic poem La Divina Commedia, aka the Divine Comedy. Like the poem, it sees you descending through the circles of Hell, each the geological manifestation of a particular Sin. Unlike the poem, it features a set of combat classes, a choice of protagonist genders, a narrative alignment system, procedurally generated extraction dungeons, and customisable weapons and a...

Hit soulslike Black Myth Wukong is getting a surprise, horror-tinged sequel

Black Myth: Wukong was one of the biggest surprises of last year. A massively popular take on the Chinese classic Journey to the West, Wukong combines the spectacle of a game like Devil May Cry 5 with the more methodical, punishing combat of Elden Ring and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Its sequel, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, was just unveiled through a surprise trailer during Gamescom's Opening Night Live. And it looks to pick up where Wukong left off, while also adding some extra horror to the formula.

Fallout season two has a teaser trailer and a December 17 release date

Things are ramping up for a return to the wasteland this winter. Season two of Prime Video's Fallout TV show will debut on December 17. Delta Force devs' new game isn't what I expected, and that's great

There's nothing wrong with combining action and horror design. Some of the best scary games, like Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2, and Amnesia: The Bunker, manage to create an eerie atmosphere even while allowing the player to fight back against enemies. Project: Spectrum, a new horror game from Delta Force creator Team Jade that was just announced during Gamescom's Opening Night Live, looks to prove this out.
